French M1866 Chassepot Bayonet, Navy Marked 1869

Original period manufacture. Standard issueM1866 Chassepot bayonet, but with an anchor proof on the obverse of the guard. The blade shows a mix of steel polish and patina with a Imperial Arsenal Chatellerault 1869on the spine.On the inside of the bayonet slot is what appears to be a unit marking of sorts, MC 39 TT, nice brass patina to the grip. Non matching blue finished steel scabbard, which is dent free, and an even steel patina finish.Nice Franco-Prussian War era Navy marked bayonet from our own collection.
