Description
Original period manufacture. A very clean example with a hooked guard, contoured wood grips with a bright finished blade, and flat, bird head pommel. The blade is bright, with scattered staining, no corrosion issues, with evidence of an attempt by a previous owner to sharpen the blade while using a power tool. Happily, they were either too lazy to finish, or gave up after seeing the effort wasn't achieving their desired results, as the grid marks are not deep or too distracting.Clear Kokura Arsenal markings on the ricasso, mix of blue and steel patina finish to the hooked guard and pommel. Original finish wooden grips, displaying typical marring to the surface.Blue finish steel scabbard with scattered areas of cleaned surface corrosion, but no denting.
