WW1 British War MedalTo- 15067.PTE.M.B.PLANT.SUFF.RMark Baxter Plant was born in Butley, Suffolk & enlisted in Saxmundham, Suffolk. He was killed in action in France & Flanders 22-3-1918 serving with the 11th service battalion of the Suffolk Regiment. He has no known grave but is commemorated on the Arras memorial. He is recorded by the CWGC as the late 34 year old husband of Mrs Harriett Eliza Pettit (formerly Plant) of Low Corner, Butley, Suffolk.The 11th service battalion of the Suffolk Regiment was a new army pals battalion that was titled the Cambridge Suffolk Regiment due to its recruitment area.
