NS Gemeinschaft Kraft durch Freude Urlaubsfahrten 1937 Gau Sachsen

Original 1937 NS (National Socialist) Gemeinschaft travel catalog Kraft durch Freude (Strength through Joy) vacation catalog. It is a little worn with some light staining and age discoloration. The last page in really loose, almost torn out. Its not super fragile, but its fragile enough to exercise caution when flipping through.This is basically a brochure or catalog of all the various vacations offered by the KDF in Gau Sachsen. This is one of the very interesting components of the 3rd Reich era. The use of a singular labor union that offered vacations to average Germans. What these programs offered average working class people was rather unprecedented and from my observations, has left a big impact on German culture. Even today if you go to a random German tourist town, a lot of the tourists will be other Germans. Their love of travel for travel's sake is not something I see in many other peoples. Other people go on vacation, sure and they go places, but not in the same way or with the same mindset. Anyway, the book is filled with a lot of pictures and schedule information and there are a few ads. An interesting book that I enjoyed flipping through.
