Description

A scarce WW1 – King George V infantry officer's sword by R. J. Inglis Ltd, Montreal & Winnipeg. It is a sword of typical 1845 pattern with a ray skin grip bound with silver wire and a plated guard having the George V cypher. The blade is etched with the foliate scrolls and the kings cypher and proof button one side and the light infantry bugle horn and makers details on the other. It has a brown leather field scabbard, and it comes in very good untouched condition. The hilt is a bit dirty covered with original patination. The blade is beautiful and clean with nice clear etching. The scabbard has some wear but a lovely worn colour. the Chape has a split so it needs a little glue. It measures 40 inches long in scabbard.Shipping to UK mainland only via courier priced at £13.95
