French WWI Medal for Bravery Croix de Guerre 1914-1916

Original era manufacture. Nice period medal with two stars mounted to the ribbon, one bronze for being mentioned in dispatches at the regimental level, and a silver star for divisional level.Nomounting prong suspension, original ribbon shows wear, some light dentingto the reverse on the dated medallion. Many Allied soldiers received the Croix de Guerrefor bravery during WWI, including US Marines of the 2nd Division. This particular example exhibits a lot of 'been there' aura to it, good early war example, with a well used original ribbon.
