WH Gasmask Filter Carrying Pouch

WH (Heer) Spare gasmask filter carrying pouch (Tragetasche für Gasmaske Filter Einsatz). Fear of the potential use of chemical warfare agents made the gasmask and canister a constant companion of the German soldier through-out the war. Spare filter pouch made of field-grey coloured canvas, it has two buttons, the buttons are slightly rusted. The reverse of the pouch has onemachine stitched on canvas belt loop, the belt loop is reinforced. The pouch is nicely maker marked with 'ohx' indicating production by the company of 'Bruno Viehweg KG' from Falkenstein. Nice example in good unissued condition!
