US Lamp Assembly Indentification Aerial Delivery Container. Type A-1 that was supposed to be attached to A-4 or A-5 cargo containers and these would light up as soon as the parachute opened to help locate the drop containers. The lamp is still stored in its original carton box. The carton box is dated 24 February 1943. Nice example in mint and unissued condition!
