WH (Heer) M42 Combat Helmet

Wehrmacht (Heer) M42 Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M42). The stamped sheet steel construction M42 helmet retains all of its typical late war rough textured matte field-grey paint. The paint shows only minimal traces and small scratches caused by years of storage. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet has a M31 leather liner, the liner is in very good condition. The liner-ring is nicely dated 1943. The liner is size '57' marked. The drawstring might have been replaced once. The shell is marked with maker and size 'ckl64' which indicates production by the company 'Eisen-und Hüttenwerke, AG' in Thale/Harz. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number '4556'. The helmet is complete with its original leather chinstrap, the chinstrap is nicely 'RF.Nr.0/0494/0008' marked. Stunning original late war M42 combat helmet in very good condition!
