WH (Heer) 'Infanterie' Officer's Visor Cap

WH (Heer) 'Infanterie' Officer's Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is a nice privately purchased Officer's example. Complete with celluloid sweat-diamond ('Raute'), the sweat diamond is faintly marked. The cap is a smaller size '54/55'. The Visor cap is piped in the white 'Truppenfarbe' (branch-colour) for Infantry personnel. The artificial leather sweatband is in heavily used and partly damaged condition, see photos. The cap is complete with an original aluminum cocarde and zinc-type cap-eagle. The cap is in heavily used condition showing some staining and small (moth)damage, see photos. Still a nice original cap for a fair price!
