German WWI Unit Marked M1916 Stahlhelm, Si66, IR 152

Sold
$550.00

Description

Original period manufacture. Nearly all of the original feldgrau paint finish remains on the helmet, maker marked Si66 on the neck skirt. Fragments of the original leather liner remains, along with both of the connecting loops for the chinstrap. Wonderfully painted unit markings on the underside of the rear skirt, 2/152 296, my interpretation would be 2nd Company, Infanterie Regiment 152, 296th soldier. The 152nd regiment formed part of the German 41st Infantry Division, a division which saw combat against at least four divisions of the American Expeditionary Force (with other previous service prior to 1918) the 1st, 32nd, 42nd, and 82nd Divisions.
