Original period manufacture. Clipped signature, Phil Sheridan M Genl USA. Nicely framed with a copy of a wartime image of the general. 1831-1888, renowned Union Cavalry Officer during the war. Postwar he served in the West, and was appointed Commanding General of the Army in 1888. Frame measures roughly 16.25 x 10.5 inches.
