US Cold War Era, USS von Steuben Submarine Buckle, Boxed

Original era manufacture. Japanese made souvenir buckle, honoring the USS von Steuben, a James Madison Class, Fleet ballistic missile submarine launched in 1963, and commissioned in 1964. She served the US Navy until decommissioned in 1994, and scrapped in 2001.  The buckle is of high quality manufacture, featuring a set of gold dolphins on the front, with darkened engraved numbers. Buckle measures 73 mm in length.
