WH (Heer) Pionier 'Crusher' Visor Cap

WH (Heer) Engineer Officer's Crusher style Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is a nice privately purchased Officer's cap with leather visor being a so called 'Crusher' cap (Alter-Art). The cap has no visible size markings, the size is approximately 55cms. The visor cap is piped in the black 'Truppenfarbe' (branch-colour) for Engineer (Pionier) personnel. The leather sweatband is in good used condition. The lining material is showing some damages. The cap is complete with its original re-applied flat-wire woven cap-eagle and cocarde, both nicely hand-sewn to the cap. The cap shows clear traces of usage and wear and some small (moth)damages and repairs, see photos. The cap has a great shape and combat worn look. The cap is priced accordingly to its condition.
