Description

WH (Heer) BeVo woven sleeve-shield as intended for a volunteer within the 'Turkistan' Legion (Turkistan Landeschilde). In an attempt to convince the Turkistans to ally themselves with the German cause Hitler finally allowed the formation of a Turkistan Legion in November 1941 which was to be attached to the German 162ND Infantry Division, this is the first pattern identifying sleeve shield as introduced in the autumn of 1942. The shield is executed in the neat so-called BeVo weave style on a field-grey linnen background, the shield is showing a white crossbow on a pink/blue shield, bordered in black. Nice original BeVo Eastern volunteer insignia in mint and unissued condition!
