Soviet Cold War Era Marshall of the Soviet Union Uniform Set

Original period manufacture. This uniform set was purchased by a law enforcement friend of ours who visited Russia in the early 90's onan official exchangevisit to the Moscow Police Department. He kept it for many years and wore it tothe 2002 OMSA Convention held in Scottsdale, his photo in uniform even made the Phoenix paper. At any rate, elaborate is not quite enough of a descriptor to convey the detail of this uniform. Based on the1945 Victory Parade uniform for Russian General Officers but now double breasted with an open collar. All of the insignia is original sewn with thebullion leaves on the collar and cuffs being directly embroidered into the uniform cloth. The visor hat is dated 1971 and again the bullion decoration is embroidered directly into the cap band and visor. The uniform is large, our friend is 6'2' and it fit him perfectly, the hat though is small, size marked 55. No moth issues or stains that we can see, just light wear and use. Being a medal collector our friend attached numerous awards andbadges to the uniform for decoration as you can see, these are included in the set but please note that the Order of Lenin and Alexander Nevsky are copies, not originals. Great looking uniform.
