German 'Militair-Paß' 1868

German 'Militair-Paß', issued in 1868. The pass belonged to a member within the '6.Westf.Inf.Rgt.No55' (6. Westfälisches Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 55) who has been awarded with the War Commemorative Medal of 1870/71 (Kriegsdenkmünze 1870/71). Various battle entries have been made in the pass including the opening battles on 6 August 1870, the 'Schlacht vor Metz' (Siege of Metz) on 14 August 1870, the 'Schlacht bei Gravelotte' (Battle of Gravelotte) on 18 August 1870 and battles around 'Sorges'.
