Description

Wehrmacht Mountain Troopers Wind Jacket (Windjacke für Gebirgsjäger). One of the specific Mountain trooper's clothing items was the wind jacket which was introduced in 1938, the wind jackets were designed to fit over the standard uniform and equipment and as a result were cut quite large. Regulations dictated that no collar tabs or national breast eagles were to be worn on the wind jacket but slip on shoulder straps. Shoulder strap buttons and loops are present. The jacket is complete with a pair of slip-on shoulder straps intended for an 'Oberfeldwebel der Gebirgsjäger'. Regimental numbers have once been removed from the shoulder straps. The matching pair of shoulder straps is otherwise in good used condition. The jacket is complete with all original buttons. The jacket is nicely maker marked 'K.M.F.' and dated 1940. The jacket is showing clear traces of usage, some damages and period repairs, see photos. Nice original example in worn condition, great for a Gebirgsjäger display!
