Waffen-SS Death Notice

Waffen-SS Death notice (Sterbebild). A common practice in Europe that continues to this day, is the issue of a remembrance card on the death of a family member. This is a death notice for 'Ludwig Glück' who was a 'Rottenführer' within a 'Kradschützen Battalion'. He was killed in action on 15 February 1942 at the eastern front. Ludwig was awarded with the Iron Cross 2nd class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse'), Infantry Assault Badge (Infanterie Sturmabzeichen) and the Wound Badge (Verwundeten Abzeichen). Ludwig is wearing his early 'SS-VT' greatcoat and SS-VT overseas cap. This death notice measures approximately 13 x 10,5 cms. Interesting original death notice!
