WH (Heer) Award-Document from Gefreiten 'Franz Günther', he was a member within the '5./Gren.Rgt.171' (Grenadier Regiment 171). The grouping is consisting of 1 Award-Document (Urkunde) in (DIN) A5 size and 1 letter in (DIN) A4 to his widow. Franz was awarded with the Iron Cross 2nd Class (das Eiserne Kreuz 2.Klasse) on 26 August 1943. This document is personally signed by an unknown 'Generalmajor u. Div.-Kommandeur'.The letter is addressed to Mrs. Günther ('Frau Günther') and is dated 11 November 1943. It states that she receives the medal because her husband was killed in action.The documents have regrettably been folded. Nice and interesting original documents!
