Kriegsmarine Tropical Tunic

Kriegsmarine Tropical Tunic (Tropenfeldbluse für Mannschaften). The light weight khaki/olive cotton construction field blouse has four pleated pockets with field-grey finished, pebbled metal buttons. There is a five-button front closure using the same type of buttons, the tunic was found recently in Germany with a house-cleaning, these buttons are attached originally but can easily be replaced with naval style buttons if wished so. It is clearly visible that a pair of collar-tabs and a breast-eagle have been removed. The tunic is however complete with a pair of sew-in type officer's shoulder boards indicating the rank of a 'Kapitänleutnant', this type of shoulder-boards is officialy intended for the white summer jacket. The field blouse is nicely size marked (chestsize 98cms), it is also marked with 'B.A.W.' (Bekleidungs Amt Wilhelmshaven) and dated 3 September 1943. Nice original Kriegsmarine Tropical field blouse in very good, near mint, condition!
