KVK 1st Class 'L/12'

This is a nice example of the 'Kriegsverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse mit Schwerter' (War merit cross 1st class with Swords). The 'Kriegsverdienstkreuz' is instituted on 18 October 1939. The basic criteria for award centered about bravery and service (not in connection with combat). The cross is a nice 'Buntmetall' example, the cross is showing a nice darkened age-patina. The cross is complete with a functional pin & catch, it is having the Juncker Iron Cross style pin. The cross is nicely maker marked with number 'L/12' indicating production by the company of 'C.E. Juncker' from Berlin. Nice original cross in good used condition!
