Kriegsmarine Award Document (Verleihungskurkunde) for the 'Zerstörer-Kriegsabzeichen' (Destroyer War Badge). The Destroyer War Badge was instituted on 4 June 1940 by Oberbefehlshaber der Kriegsmarine und Großadmiral 'Erich Raeder'. The badge was aswarded to destroyer crew members who had participated in the naval battle for 'Narvik' (Norway). Regulations of October 1940 extended bestowal of the Destroyer War Badge to include other destroyer, torpedo, and E-boat personnel involved in other naval battles. This (A5 sized) document was awarded to Matrosengefreiten 'Helmut Chlebusch' for his participation in the naval battles with the Torpedobootes 'TA 14'. The TA 14 (Torpedoboot Ausland) was an ex-Italian destroyer, captured at Piraeus in September 1943. The TA 14 served in the Aegean Sea and sunk by US Army Air Force in Salamis on 16 September 1944. The document is dated 21 February 1944, the document is personally signed by 'Konteradmiral Leo Kreisch'. The document has been folded once. Nice original document in very good condition!
