WH (Heer) 'Kavallerie' Officer's Visor Cap

WH (Heer) 'Kavallerie' (cavalry) Officer's Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is a nice private purchased Officer's example. The celluloid manufacturers sweat-diamond ('Raute') is regrettably missing. The cap has no visible size markings, the size is approximately 54cms. The Visor cap is piped in the golden-yellow 'Truppenfarbe' (branch-colour) for cavalry personnel. The grey leather sweatband is in used ondition showing some cracks and small damages, see photos. The cap is complete with it's original applied hand-embroidered cocarde and carefully replaced hand-embroidered cap-eagle. The cap regrettably shows some normal traces of usage and some staining and small damages, see photos. The cap has a great shape (Sattelform). Nice original visor cap in good used condition!
