Description

Iron Cross first class (Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse). On 1 September 1939 Hitler reinstituted the Iron Cross (First time in 1813). The first class cross was for award to personnel who performed three to five acts of bravery in combat, and had already been awarded the Iron Cross second class. This is a magnetic cross, it has a three piece construction with a magnetic iron core. The cross is nicely maker marked with number 'L/15' indicating production by the company of 'Otto Schickle' from Pforzheim. These original 'L/15' marked crosses are extremely hard to find, especially in this wonderful condition. Nice original cross in very good condition!
