German Imperial Pilots Badge 'Prinzengröße'

Sold
€750.00

Description

This is a stunning original Imperial Pilots Badge (Militär-Flugzeugführerabzeichen) in the so-called 'Prinzengröße'. The Imperial Pilot's badge was originally introduced on 27 january 1913 by 'Kaiser Wilhelm'. All pilots, regardless of rank, were eligible. This badge is a nice period privately purchased example in silver, marked with '800' and half-moon on the reverse. The badge shows very nice & pronounced detail overall. The badge has naturally a functional pin & catch construction. The badge is sized approximately 3,05 x 4,85 cms. A very nice and rare silver example of so called 'Prinzen' size pilot's badge!
