Japanese WWII Army Enlisted Wool Field Cap

Original era manufacture. Classic enlisted field hat as worn by the IJA in all theaters of WWII. Brown olive wool body, of apparent later war manufacture, with a simple yellow wool star stitched to the front, of which only remnants remain. Pigskin leather chinstrap and oilcloth sweatband with a tan-white, cotton chintz lining, which shows numerous issue stamps. The hat is small, say about a 6 1/4 or 54, but is in very clean condition except for the star.
