WW1 British 2nd Battalion Berkshire Regiment Brodie Helmet

An untouched helmet as worn by a member of the 2nd Royal Berkshires . This unit adopted a unit wide system of battle insignia including as here a helmet in the 1918 format . To the front is an other ranks badge mounted to the shell via a slider bracket and to each side the regimental /battalion flashes . The exterior is finished in a dark sand textured finish . There is a wonderful patina and evidence of shrinkage to the oil rich paint . Interior has some expected rust bleed, crown pad long mothed away. The chinstrap remains supple .
