Description

An interesting pair of hand made aluminium ID tags to be worn around the wrist with detailed information on a Pte H.A.Davies, service number 18451 who served in the 8th Welsh Pioneers, formed in Cardiff.. Both, going by appearance and workmanship where done on separate occasions. The 8th battalion landed at ANZAC cove, Gallipoli in August 1915 and evacuated December 1915. The unit served in the Middle East , Egypt and Mesopotania.Captain Edgar Myles from the battalion won the VC during the Siege of Kut.
