A scarce original typical Second World War period 'Faith, Hope and Charity pin badge'; in the form of three celluloid danglers in red, white and blue. a cross, anchor and heart suspended from a ribbon suspension bar. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, colours remain strong.Height approx 34mm.'Faith, Hope, and Charity' were the nicknames given to the three Gloster Gladiator biplane fighter aircraft flown by the Hal Far Fighter Flight during the Siege of Malta in 1940. These aircraft played a crucial role in defending the island against Italian and German air attacks in the early stages of the Second World War.
