A rare ORIGINAL 1914 to 1918 period 'RMS Missanabie shipping line pin badge'; large early style gilt white rope edged enamel bouy, mounted with coloured enamel crossed 'Union Flag and Canadian Red Ensign bearing early Crowned Commonwealth device. Good condition, complete with original pin fittings, enamel with very fine stress marks to bouy, enamel intact, gilt finish remains bright.Height approx 32mm.In 1918 R.M.S. Missanabie was torpedoed and sunk by German Submarine U-Boat 87 when 52 miles off Daunts Rock, Southern Ireland.
