Imperial Japanese Army Metal Sake Cup

An early Imperial Japanese Meji period metal sake cup. The cup commemorates Japans victory over Russia from the Russo Japanese War 1904-1905.The Sakazuki shaped cups centre shows the Order of the Golden Kite in a wreath. The Order of the Golden Kite was an exclusively military award, conferred for bravery, leadership or command in battle.The cup has a diameter of 8.9 cm and stands at 2.5 cm tall.
