Lignose Pistol Accessory / Travel Soap Tin

Prewar German Lignose aluminum box. Lignose was a pistol made in the 1920s - during the Weimer era to skirt the Treaty of Versailles. I am unsure what the box's original purpose was. However, it looks like a soap box and the person who owned it last used it for that purpose.
