Original German WWII Heer Officer's Dagger With Hanger & Portepee By Emil Voos-This is an authentic German WWII Army (Heer) Officer's dagger, complete with its original hanger and portepee, manufactured byEmil Voos, a well-known Solingen blade maker.The dagger features the classic late-war zinc-based fittings with a silvered finish.Handle (Grip, Crossguard, & Pommel):The crossguard bears the distinctive Wehrmacht eagle clutching a swastika, a symbol of the German armed forces during the period.The grip is a very nice orange color being in excellent condition, showing only very minor age toning. The pommel is nicely intact and still shows crisp details.Both the crossguard,ferruleand pommel show a nice aged tarnish. The back of the crossguard has the initials of the Heer officer of 'KM' and the M is double struck.Blade:The blade is in excellent to mint condition, showing the Emil Voos maker's mark, a snake wrapped around a stump, stamped near the ricasso. The blade retains its original factory polish with minimal wear.Scabbard:The scabbard maintains detailed pebbling and has matching tarnish to the crossguard, ferrule and pommel. At the top of the scabbard there is a 'shadow' from the crossguard covering the area.Retains its original scabbard throat screws, which remain untouchedPortepee & Hanger:Included is the originalportepee, the decorative silver bullion knot traditionally tied to the hilt by officers, and the correct cloth and aluminum hanger straps with working clips and buckles. There is some fraying in a few areas on the portepee and hanger straps. Overall both are in very good condition.Overall this is nicely preserved Heer officer's dagger and in very good to excellent condition.
