Original German WWII Dress Bayonet Short Model By WKC-This German WWII dress bayonet is a fine example of the short model produced by the WKC firm.Hilt: The hilt is in good structural condition, though the majority of the nickel plating has worn off. The mortise button functions smoothly. The grip plates are the standard black checkered type, secured by steel rivets with dressed obverse heads. There is minor wear on one side near the crossguard.Scabbard: The scabbard retains approximately 95% of its original black paint, showing only minor scratches throughout.Blade: The short blade features a stepped end and remains bright, with scattered gray spots, but has a small fuller. The obverse ricasso bears the iconic Knight's Helmet trademark of the WKC firm, along with the company's initials. The original dark brown leather buffer pad is intact.This bayonet is a solid and presentable example, showing honest wear consistent with age, and overall remains in very good condition.
