Original German WWII Luftwaffe M40 Single Decal Helmet Q64-This original German WWII Luftwaffe M40 Single Decal Helmet, manufactured by Q (Quist) and sized 64. Appearing to have been reissued with a light flat gray textured paint over the darker gray/blue Luftwaffe factory applied paint. It bears some minor rust, dirt and dust spots on the exterior of the Luftwaffe blue textured paint. Dust and dirt could be cleaned off or left alone.The 2nd model Luftwaffe decal remains, but was covered by the reissued paint. Approximately 35-40% shows through the paint with a couple of chips in the one wing showing the original factory paint.Internally, the helmet features an zinc liner dated 1941 and sized 56. The leather is a little dry, but supple and complete with no damage. Could use some leather conditioner or not. Comes with the original drawstring.The original leather chinstrap is missing. Overall, this Luftwaffe M40 helmet makes a striking addition to any collection since it is a M40 Luftwaffe helmet that was reissued. You find M35 Luftwaffe helmets reissued, but not so much a M40.
