It retains much of itsfactory-applied Luftwaffe gray-blue textured paint, with somerust spots and surface wearon the exterior. The2nd Model Luftwaffe decal remains approximately 85% intact, with a small chip on theeagle's body and claw, along with minor scratches and wear.The helmet still features itsoriginal leather liner, which remainssuppleand retains itsoriginal drawstring. The liner isink-stamped size 56. The originalchinstrap is present, though slightlydry, and is anearly pre-/early war typewith analuminum buckle. It isfaintly maker-markedbut is likelynot the original factory-applied chinstrap. However, as this is how we received the helmet, we can only assume it was period-applied.Theinterior shows some paint loss around the edgesand features adome stamp. Overall, this is anexcellent example of an M42 Single Decal Luftwaffe helmet, ideal for collectors.
