Original German WWII Heer Tropical Pith Helmet Shield Non-Matching Set-Heer Tropical Helmet Shields were introduced in late 1940, with the impending German entrance in the North African campaign, tropical uniforms, headgear, and equipment that were quickly developed and issued in time for Deutsches Afrika Korps (DAK) personnel arrival in Tripoli in February 1941. One of the new headgear items introduced was the tropical pith helmet which was based on the design of the earlier Kriegsmarine pith helmets.This unmarked national eagle shield shows minimal paint loss. Could use a gentle cleaning. 1 of 3 prongs on the reverse side has broken off--it could possibly be fixed and one top prong is starting to break away. Aside from the broken prong, it's still in good condition.This unmarked national Tri-Colored shield exhibits some paint loss and slight corrsion where the paint loss is. Could also use a gentle cleaning. All 3 prongs are still intact on the reverse side. Aside from it's flaws, still in good condition.
