Original German WWII State Service Armband -- ScreenprintedThis is an original yellow State Service armband in near mint condition. It is the screen-printed variant, whereas most original examples were constructed using machine-woven techniques. While many reproductions are also screen printed, the key to distinguishing an authentic piece lies in the detail of the eagle design. On our example, the eagle's head and claws match exactly with those found on known original woven versions, confirming its authenticity.The armband is made from correct yellow cotton—original to the period—as opposed to the lighter yellow often seen in reproductions. A large black German national eagle with swastika is screen printed on the front. The top and bottom edges are hemmed with yellow thread, while the short edges on the reverse are factory machine-sewn together using the same yellow thread.On the interior, the reverse image of the eagle and swastika is visible—a typical result of the screen-printing method. There is no damage, fading, or wear present. This is an excellent and highly representative example of this popular armband type. Its condition is outstanding and would be a strong addition to any WWII collection.
