Portuguese M1886 Kropatschek Bayonet & Scabbard, Austrian Mfg.

Original era manufacture. A massive, wood griped, sword bayonet with a polished steel 18.5 inch blade in very clean condition. Itis maker marked and dated on the spine, Steyr 1886.The wooden grips have a dark oiled finish, showing typical marring and denting from handling and service use, with a thin crack in the right grip plate, running from the rear-most rivet to the base of the pommel.Dent-free, blue steel finished scabbard with most of the original finish remaining. Serial numbered on the guard and scabbard throat, non-matching.
