Original US WWII M1 Front Seam Fixed Bale Helmet With Mine Safety Appliance Co.-This is an authentic WWII-eraFixed Bale Front Seam M1 Helmet, complete with its original web chinstrap. The helmet shows clear signs of service use while still retaining a good amount of its originalOD Green paintwith a cork-textured finish. There is some wear along the outer edge, along with scrapes and minor rust spots at the top of the dome. Inside, rust circles are present due to water settling over time.Theoriginal helmet netis a two-tone variety, featuring both brown and green colors. It has two rips/tears at the top of the net (see photos).The helmet includes aMine Safety Appliance Co. (MSA) marked linerwith early fixed webbing that remains intact. However, some original components are missing:Leather sweatband(missing)Neckband strap(missing)Leather chinstrap(missing)Theliner's exterior painthas been repainted over the original factory finish. It is unclear whether this was done during the war or post-war. Despite this, the liner remains invery good overall condition.
