Original German WWII Eastern Front Winter Campaign Medal 1941/42 With Ribbon Bar-Commonly referred to as the Eastern Front Medal (Ostmedaille), itwas awarded to those who served on theEastern Front during the harsh winter of 1941–1942, specifically betweenNovember 15, 1941, and April 15, 1942, under extremely brutal conditions against Soviet forces. To qualify, one had to serve for 14 day sin combat, or serve 60 days in a combat zone, or be wounded or frostbitten in action. The color white in the ribbon signifies snow, black is for fallen soldier, and the red is for blood.This authentic medal with ribbon and ribbon bar are not marked. The authentic ribbon bar with original pinback allows for display of the award without having to wear the actual award on the uniform. Both the medal and ribbon bar exhibits typical age-related toning and wear but remain ingood overall condition.
