Original German WWII 7x50 Binoculars (Dienstglas) Marked 'beh' (Ernst Leitz) With Case-This is an original set of German WWII 7x50Dienstglasbinoculars manufactured by Ernst Leitz, Wetzlar. The binoculars are marked with the wartime manufacturer code'beh'and feature the '+' symbol, indicating production around 1942. Approximately 75% of the original black factory paint remains, with expected wear from use and age—typical of zinc-bodied optics from this period.The dark brown Bakelite eyecups are intact with no chips or cracks, and the eyepieces rotate smoothly. Optics are excellent overall, with only minor spotting in the right lens. The left lens retains the built-in reticle (rangefinding scale). The binoculars do not include a leather neck strap.The included blackpresstoffcase shows moderate wear and damage from age and improper storage. The leather belt loops and the leather hinge connecting the lid to the body have broken off over time. The case retains its original pull-down tab, although the shoulder strap loops are also broken. On the inside of the lid is a compartment designed to hold two tinted eyepieces, both of which are still present. The case is unmarked.Overall a good pair of wartime binoculars with presstoff case in good to very good condition.
