A scarce ORIGINAL die stamped correct pattern early circa 1955 to 1972 period 'Army Trained Nurse qualification pin badge'; large oxidized pewter plated example with mellow silver patination, bearing embossed 'Royal Crest' superimposed on crossed swords within laurel wreath surround. Very good condition, complete with original pin, original hook replaced by a roller safety catch.Height approx 41mm.War Office Dress Committee WODC Aug 1955. RAMC and QARANC personnel who passed the Army Trained Nurses' examination at the conclusion of the three year course in military hospitals were allowed to wear this brooch on the left breast pocket of a white jacket or ward dress. It was permitted to be retained by the recipient.
