Description
A very good example of the M35 double decal army helmet with a good proportion of its original apple green paint remaining. Named to a 'Hauptmann' on inside rear skirt. This M35 'ET64' helmet retains both largely intact army & tricolour decals with natural age toning & fine age crackling only seen on original decals. The apple green paint is good to inside & out with some natural service wear & scuffing to be expected on well fielded helmet. To the inside rear skirt is handwritten 'Haupt.Raap' ( Or Raop) The first part being a rank abbreviation of Hauptmann ( Captain ) . Liner band is aluminium reinforced & dated 1939. Leather liner shows heavy wear with original drawstring still present. There is a tear to the front forehead area . Finally the chinstrap is partially intact with an incomplete long section & similar short section. I have made no attempt to replace the strap leaving it as it came to me.Superb example of the M35 Double Decal helmet.
