A rare ORIGINAL circa 1908 to 1917 period 'R.M.S. Otway ships wheel pin badge' displaying a Red Ensign and Orient Steam Navigation Company crossed flags to the centre. Fair condition, complete with original pin fittings, heavy enamel loss to Red Ensign otherwise intact. Price reflects.Diameter approx 31mm.In 1917 during the First World War, the armed merchant cruiser Otway was torpedoed and sunk by German U-boat SM UC-49 off the Hebrides.
