Japanese WWII Pilot Aerial Recognition Flotation Flag

Original era manufacture. A silk construction, with cork sewn into a seamed pocket round the circumference of the flag.This was originally mounted to a telescoping pole, which a downed pilot would extend, laying the flag on the surface of the water to aid in recognition/recovery efforts. Very clean, measures 31 x 39 inches, with a few small holes in the fabric.
