Wehrmacht Water Jerrycan 1943

Description

Wehrmacht 20 Liter Water Jerrycan (Wasser Kanister). The classic 'Jerry' can design was originally adopted by the German Armed forces around 1937 and was so successful that the allies valued captured cans and based their own on the same design. Each side of the can has a large impressed strength reinforcing 'X'. This is a scarce and hard to find model jerrycan intended for water, marked on top with 'Wasser 20l' (Water 20 liters) and 'Wehrmacht' 1943. The jerrycan is nicely maker marked with 'ABP' indicating production by the 'Ambi Budd Presswerke' from Berlin. The jerrycan retains almost all of its original tan coloured paint and the jerrycan is marked with a white cross so it wouldn't be mixed up with fuel jerrycans. The Jerrycan is in used condition but still shows a fair amount of its original paint, please note it has been used for fuel after the war. Rare and hard to find water jerrycan in good uncleaned condition as found, nice original example!
