WWI Kgl. Hof-Bräuhaus München 1L Krug with Lid(made between 1913-1918)
Ships from: United States
Vintage Kgl. Hof-Bräuhaus München one liter beer krug with lid. This krug was produced sometime between 1913 and 1918. The abbreviation 'Kgl.' stands for königlich, which represents royal ownership; that dates this krug to 1918 or earlier since the monarchy was overthrown after WWI. After WWI, the company became state owned (staatlich) and 'Staatl.' replaced 'Kgl.' The lid is marked 'L. Mory München' for Ludwig Mory who started his business in 1913, further helping to date it.It is in good condition with some light wear. There is a divot in the ceramic - the imperfection does nit effect function. Some dark marks on the handle. The inside is fairly clean. This is a krug, not a stein. Stein is what English speakers and tourists say. In German asteinis a stone, and is not used to describe a beverage container.
