He died on May 4 1918 and his name appears on panel 19-21 of the Pozieres Memorial. Son of John Ellis and husband of Sarah Ann Ellis of Wellingborough UK. Normal age and wear. The top of the ribbon shows three metal staples, perhaps indicating mounted in a display at some point.
